Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement is in Arua District in northwestern Uganda. It was opened in 1980 and expanded in the wake of the South Sudanese civil war to host the sudden influx of refugees into Northern Uganda.
Background Information About Rhino Refugee Camp Training
The #ASKnet innovation training programme is an initiative by r0g_agency for open culture and critical transformation gGmbH (Berlin), in collaboration with CTEN (Arua / Rhino Camp) and Hive Colab (Kampala) in supporting the developing of a media training center in Rhino Camp , Uganda, funded by the ‘Access to Information and Supporting Freedom of Expression’ programme of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
CTEN Uganda – the Community Technology Empowerment Network – aims to strengthen media literacy, basic IT, access to open information as well as community training methods and workshop development skills in Rhino Camp and beyond.
